Far North Itinerary
DIVING EXCURSIONS: SHAMBAIA – MERLO – ABINGTON – ANGAROSH – RAS ABU SHAGARA – SHA’AB QUMEIRA – GOTA SHIN’AB – ABU BISH BISH – PFAIFFER – MOHAMED QOL – MESHARIFA
This cruise is recommended for those who have already been in Sudan and wish to see new reefs other than the legendary north (Angarosh).
A special cruise
Once arrived at P. Sudan airport, a minibus in three hours will transfer the participants to Mohamed Qol . The road is good and flat. The cruise starts from Mesharifa, which during our traditional cruises is the most northern destination.
After a few hours of navigation on Tuesday morning we will reach Shambaia: the famous great north!
The map shows the area of the “Deep North” cruise, starting from Cape Abu Shagara to the North of Abington, up to the reefs east of of the marsa of Kor Shinab and the famous Pfaiffer.
In these reefs people don’t normally come for diving excursions, except maybe a few passengers on boats in transit from Egypt to the south. During our traditional one week cruises, it is impossible to cover such a long distance which would really requires two weeks navigation.
These reefs are still quite unexplored and rich in pelagic fish. Thus we are talking about solitary navigation and exclusive diving excursions only for our guests. It is an opportunity to try something new and different.
This cruise is ideal for those who wish to return to Sudan and at the same time try something new and special. There are big reefs with lagoons and exposed pinnacles offshore. A main feature of these diving excursions is the beauty of the coral and sea walls, as well as the opportunity of sighting schools of hammerhead and other sharks. For the return trip, the minibus always starts off from Mohamed Qol. Same route as for the incoming, this way you will be able to add some overland views of Sudan to your journey…a few photographs to complete your fantastic experience.
